چکیده

In response to growing global interest in organic agriculture, this study delves into the microbial landscape of organically grown raw produce with a focus on food safety. Vegetables that are consumed potential vehicles for transmission any type microorganism capable causing human disease. Free-living amoebae (FLA) ubiquitous protozoa found many ecosystems and can serve as hosts pathogenic bacteria. So far, data regarding FLA bacterial microbiome fresh remain scarce non-existent those origin. Thus, aim preliminary work is characterize commonly vegetables know their possible implications consumers. A total 40 cabbage, lettuce, spinach, strawberry samples were analyzed. all samples, was obtained via amplicon sequencing using Illumina MiSeq platform pair-end protocol. Acanthamoeba spp. Vermamoeba vermiformis identified qPCR 65.0% 25.0% respectively. Regarding FLA, most abundant genera Pseudomonas (1.8–17.8%) Flavobacterium (1.7–12.6%). Bacteria not previously related such Prosthecobacter or Cellvibrio, described work. Importantly, several within pathogens, including Pseudomonas, Flavobacterium, Arcobacter, Klebsiella, Mycobacterium, Salmonella Legionella. This first which isolated from products has been characterized, underscoring significance understanding FLA’s role carriers bacteria context

Presence of potential pathogenic genotypes of free-living amoebae isolated from sandboxes in children's playgrounds.

Some free-living amoebae are a potential threat to human health. The best known species are those of the genus Acanthamoeba Volkonsky, 1931, which cause Acanthamoeba keratitis, granulomatous amoebic encephalitis and other forms of tissue inflammation. The aim of the present study was to search for potential pathogenic genotypes of free-living amoeba in the sand in children’s playgrounds. Our re...

Survival and growth of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia in free-living amoebae (FLA) and bacterial virulence properties

Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is found ubiquitously in the environment and is an important emerging nosocomial pathogen. S. maltophilia has been recently described as an Amoebae-Resistant Bacteria (ARB) that exists as part of the microbiome of various free-living amoebae (FLA) from waters. Co-culture approaches with Vermamoeba vermiformis demonstrated the ability of this bacterium to resist amoe...

Microorganisms resistant to free-living amoebae.

Free-living amoebae feed on bacteria, fungi, and algae. However, some microorganisms have evolved to become resistant to these protists. These amoeba-resistant microorganisms include established pathogens, such as Cryptococcus neoformans, Legionella spp., Chlamydophila pneumoniae, Mycobacterium avium, Listeria monocytogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Francisella tularensis, and emerging patho...
